For the efficiency of solar cells the properties of a defect and its impact on the material quality are of great importance .

Defect properties

The properties of a defect and its impact on the material quality can be described by three main parameters:

  • defect concentration NT

  • capture cross sections for electrons and holes σn, σp

  • activation energy ET

All these properties are part of the simulation models we use and they can be measured beside the defect concentration with  the temperature dependent method MD-PICTS.
