虽然陶瓷的类型学是许多考古年代学的支柱，但有时仍需直接测定某些特定类型陶瓷的年代。光释光（OSL）以及热释光（TL）均可应用于粘土制成的受热物件。

• 陶瓷/陶器测年，建立年代序列或确定遗址年龄

• 砖块测年，深入了解建筑历史

• 陶制雕像或其粘土内芯，确定制作年代

• 陶瓷器物、陶器或雕像的真伪鉴定，判断是否为赝品

• 多分装流程的重复性通过 lexsyg 加热板性能得到提升
