Freiberg Instruments and Ajuba are joining forces to support the continued development of India’s semiconductor ecosystem. The collaboration combines applied measurement expertise, international industry experience and academic networks to strengthen research, education and practical skills in this rapidly evolving field.

A competitive semiconductor industry depends not only on advanced technologies and production capacities, but also on highly qualified specialists. Through the partnership, Freiberg Instruments and Ajuba aim to connect academic education more closely with practical research and industrial applications.

The collaboration is closely linked to Ajuba’s SKILL program – Scientific Knowledge for International Learning and Leadership – and its network of Indian university partners. Freiberg Instruments contributes its expertise in semiconductor metrology, material characterization and automated measurement solutions.

The joint activities include an annual internship program designed to provide students with hands-on experience in semiconductor research and development. Freiberg Instruments will also support Master’s and PhD projects through technical mentoring and contribute its specialist knowledge to virtual guest lectures within Ajuba’s educational programs.

“We are thrilled to collaborate with Ajuba to help build a strong semiconductor ecosystem in India – one that nurtures innovation, research and skills development,”

says Dr. Kay Dornich, CEO of Freiberg Instruments.

Collaborative research and development projects form another key element of the partnership. By bringing together academic knowledge, practical measurement expertise and international industry perspectives, the partners aim to foster innovation and support the transfer of emerging semiconductor technologies into real-world applications.

“Our partnership with Freiberg Instruments signifies a shared dedication to shaping the future of the semiconductor industry,”

says Baljit Singh, CEO of Ajuba.

The collaboration creates new opportunities for students and researchers to gain practical insights into semiconductor materials, processes and measurement technologies. At the same time, it strengthens the connection between universities and industry – an essential foundation for developing the expertise required by tomorrow’s semiconductor sector.
