Quartz blanks are the heart of an oscillator device since they have one particular resonance frequency. The temperature dependence of this frequency is determined by the cutting angle of the quartz.
XRD can detect and evaluate this quality criterion. The samples are being sorted into groups of different quality in a fully automated process. Highest throughputs are reached by handling and measurement times of down to 3 s.
