Development and Demonstration of Material, Process, and Equipment Innovations in Cell Activation for Battery Cell Production
InnoAktiv aims to significantly accelerate and improve cell activation in the production of large-format lithium-ion batteries through innovative materials, processes, and equipment. The project targets a substantial reduction in the currently required process time of around ten days, helping to reduce costs, energy consumption and emissions.
At the same time, the project aims to improve cell performance through longer lifetime and lower internal resistance. The developed innovations will be demonstrated under realistic production conditions, helping to strengthen the competitiveness of European battery manufacturing.
